Lighting + Color Correcting/Grading Tutorials This one is a huge tutorial, actually 11 wrapped up into one. 11 objects were photographed using different lighting setups and I will demonstrate in details how each were done on video. Tone Mapping + Color Grading Photoshop is great for many things but for HDR photos, you’ll need the Photomatix software (which is free if you don’t mind the watermark HERE) – but something else Photomatix does great is tone mapping. Tone mapping is basically about trying to imitate the HDR look but with only using one photo instead of 3+ taken at different exposures. Very useful when you don’t have a tripod around or don’t have the possibilty to have the subject in your photo stay still for a full second. HDR + COLOR GRADING Taking 3 photos at different exposures and then merging them (HDR) is key to create sort of surreal images where the shadows and highlights are much less pronounced and more detailed than on your average single-exposure photo.
