…your roadmap to a lifestyle of exotic foreign locations, financial freedom, sizzling romance, or just sitting around doing nothing at all — YOU DECIDE!
I travel where and when I want. I work for myself. I hang out with people I’d always imagined meeting. And I live in a place I chose, not someplace I just ended up.
I came from a town of 4,500 people. My dad worked in a factory as a plumber and steamfitter. I had bad grades in high school, and got kicked out more times than I can count. I went to a mediocre university, worked for minimum wage (and less), and was down to the last $15 in my wallet on more than one occasion.
But today I’ve got a very successful business and a hot wife. I travel to the world’s most exotic places and write about my experiences in glossy magazines that are read by thousands of people. I spend every day doing the things I love, with people I respect, to create products and art I believe in.
You really don’t have to, you know. YOU can be free, and you can create the life you’ve always dreamed of living.
You’re financially independent — meaning you no longer have to depend on anyone else to make ends meet — so you can choose to work when you want, with whoever you want.
You’re free from restriction. Free from doing things just to please someone else, or to avoid an argument, or to escape guilt.
Your life has become an adventure, filled with amazing new experiences, exciting new friends, the love of your life, and the items from your “bucket list”…
YOU decided what makes you happy. And you followed that path — unapologetically, right to the max.
I spent twenty years meticulously testing my ideas in the arena of my life. And you’re right, it wasn’t easy. In fact, it felt pretty hopeless a lot of the time — especially at 3am.
I went down so many false paths and dead ends — sometimes for years. And I suffered through an incredible amount of trial and error.
It took me nearly 20 years to achieve my dream. But that won’t be the case for you. At least, not if you take the short cuts I discovered.
The tools I discovered will work for someone who wants to live a jet set lifestyle like me, or for someone whose goal is to stay in one place and raise a big family — the strategies work across the board.
I read a lot of "self help" stuff during the first decade of my quest. I devoured just about everything in print. And I found a lot of wishy washy crap.
Many books had a piece of the puzzle. They gave me a good idea, but the system as a whole was what worked for that author. Adopting it could only lead me where HE was going. And that wasn’t my destination of choice.
A lot of the rest was just New Age nonsense. Those writers tried to convince me that the miserable unsatisfying situation I was living in was perfectly okay. They said I should just accept it and be happy.
But I didn’t want to accept it. I wanted to create my ideal vision, and I would settle for nothing less.
Other books taught an easy way out in the form of wishful thinking. Learn this meditation and you will magically manifest everything your heart desires. Uncover "the secret" that will instantly transform your life. Lots of mystical nonsense that would give you everything without any effort, if only you believed hard enough.
Yeah, well, in my experience the only people who create vibrant, abundant lives for themselves using those ideas are the people selling them to everyone else.
For the longest time, that’s what you would have found if you searched for “self help” solutions to personal freedom.
The world’s speeding up. We’re living increasingly global lives. And some of that old “self-help” stuff is going global along with it.
These days I see a growing proliferation of blogs that teach "lifestyle design" — but they all seem to say the same thing. They either focus on how to create a portable "location-free" lifestyle, or how to start an internet business for financial independence.
But what if you don’t want to travel? And what if financial independence isn’t your end goal, but is just a means to an end?
Shouldn’t "lifestyle design" focus on happiness in general? And shouldn’t YOU be the one to define that term?
I spent 20 years trying to figure this stuff out. And I distilled everything I learned into this clear, concise book. Personal Freedom: A Guide to Creating the Life of Your Dreams is everything I learned about freedom and lifestyle design. Period.
I didn’t invent all of these strategies, of course. Some were adopted from other writers who came before me — and I’ve identified those people in the text so you can follow up and study more of their thoughts. Some I adapted and changed. Others I created myself from the sum of my successful experiences.
I cut the fluff, the wishful thinking, the New Age nonsense, the dead ends, the over complication, and the sort of anal robotic methods that turn your life into a paper-piling routine.
I also cut out every needless word. There are no longwinded stories and time-wasting rambles. Just strategies you can apply, and exercises that teach you how.
Sick to death of wading through useless pages of filler? Just want to get to the point? Then this is for you.
I took a long hard look at my life and my successes, and I clearly identified the key ideas that worked for me.
I’ve travelled to some of the world’s most unforgiving places, including Mongolia, Tibet, Nicaragua, and North Korea, by Russian jeep, motorcycle, dugout canoe, horse and…
