I was once an average bloke earning a minimum wage in a Tesco warehouse. At work, we were like one big family, in my night shift section we had a group of 12 people, 11 blokes and one lady who used to drive a forklift truck.

Let me just remind you that I’m not a lottery winner, the most we’ve ever won on the lottery was £185 that we had to share between 12 members of the group.

Our way of gambling on football was very random; we had no structure or discipline at all. We just ticked those boxes that appeared attractive at the time and that was it; for the rest of the time we were waiting on our luck.

Mike comes from a very well educated background, his father worked in the bank and he also delivered motivational speeches in the weekends.

I’ve always thought that something needed changing in my life so when I heard that Mike’s father was a motivational speaker I was adamant to take part in his event.

He usually delivered his speeches on the Sundays but with the way things were set at works, we had to work on Sundays so attending his event was almost insurmountable as we had a boss who could almost tell if you were short of a piece of hair .

One day there was an accident in the warehouse which meant that closely observed investigations had to be carried and we finally had that Sunday off.

With the thought of attending Mike’s dad’s event burning in the back of my brain; you could almost guess where I headed off to after learning about the news.

The wait was finally over, there I was listening to the man himself, I’ve heard great stories about him inspiring people who went on to become successful men and women.

I became a whole new different person, all of a sudden I started believing in myself more and walking around with a more positive mind.

I always remembered the phrase “Whatever valuable knowledge you acquired in your life can be turned it into a gold mine”. So as active football punters at work and off work, Mike and I decided to focus on our betting life.

Never ever in a million years did I imagine that I would be here one day making my main income from football betting – let alone becoming a millionaire.

Although we never really made thousands at the time, we were winning enough to make profit but the biggest problem was that we were losing way more than we were winning so as you could imagine; we were making 1 step forward and 3 steps back.

Like any other person living in the 21st century; Google was probably the smartest professor on earth that you could rely on to answer all your questions.

Back then the search engine was totally decomposed, I mean information was all over the place. We spent months scouring just to come out worse off than when we began! I came across a blog that was discussing in-play betting but there were like 27000 words of information.

My manager rang me one morning saying that I should not turn to work today however they would like me to report to the office at some point during the day.

With my heart beating faster than a machine gun, I rushed to work only to find out that I was being dismissed because of my poor attendance and punctuality.

I was the kind of person you would find talking to themselves on the street and that’s what happened when I reached home later on that night.

I can remember saying to my computer “since you have cost me my job I will not stay off your radar until you find me an alternative way of surviving”

I was unemployed for 5 months and during that time, I had thousands of spare hours to really to break down those 27000 words.

I was still never quite there yet but I knew things were changing because I was losing slightly less than I was before.
