So like any other parent, drove him to school, came home and sat down to research information I could use to make this request happen for my son.

I spend hours per day researching face painting. It lasted days and I was forced to piece information together but it simply wasn’t adequate to actually show up and start painting.

To make a long story short, I spent hours using my three kids as testing models making a complete fool out of myself. But I was learning, slow and steady.

After getting the basics down, I started to gain confidence, then something bizarre and cute happened after Halloween. I painted my daughters face with a beautiful butterfly, gave her wings and she won “Best Costume” in her sixth grade class!

After looking at factory built boats it was plain to see that a family with children just did not have money for luxuries like a houseboat.

So, we built our boat right in our back yard and you can too! The hull was constructed of local lumberyard materials and covered with fiberglass. The end result was a craft that out performed factory built boats at a fraction of the cost. Plus, there is a special feeling knowing you built your boat yourself. It becomes more than a boat, it becomes part of your family and I can not think of a better family or school project.


Amateur boat building is huge around the world. Canal boats, pontoon boats, houseboats and just about any type of factory built boat can be constructed by the back yard boat builder.

Over the years we have received many questions about how we built this boat and what materials we used. We have answered all these and more in our book Dream Building.

She was a 27 ft. trailerable cabin cruiser with sleek lines. The cabin had nice berthing, galley and head. I could see myself coming into dock as all drooled over my mini yacht. The Gypsy on the other hand had all except looks. She was a homely boat but very practical. She did have a very shallow draft, which I wanted for the Florida lakes. Also, the Gypsy could be used as a camper, and I thought the layout was more practical for a family with children. So, with the children chanting, "Raven, Raven," I picked up the phone and ordered the Gypsy Plans! I never regretted this decision, and soon the family came to love the homely Gypsy that we christened the "Fair Havens."

That night the children wanted to sleep on the bow porch, which I agreed to. I noticed as I went to bed that along the shoreline you could hear small minnows splashing. So we fell asleep with a gentle rocking of the boat and the soothing splash of those minnows. Around 4 A.M. I awoke and noticed the splashing of the minnows was very close, so I tried to get up to investigate. However, I couldn’t sit up, because the bow of the boat was angled down. Still being half asleep, the thought came to me that I should not have let the kids sleep on the bow porch, because their weight was pulling the bow down. Then I jolted awake with the realization that something was terribly wrong!

Early on I made a decision that I had to stop this happening to me because on an emotional level, I did not want to mirror the way my parents approached life.

So, as I got older I tried many different methods to try and improve my self-confidence, but soon realized that even though I was attempting to adopt new thought processes and adjust my behavior, I was not getting to the core (my subconscious mind) of where the problem was. I was despondent and struggling emotionally.

In early 2008 I discovered focused meditation and Ho’oponopono. Until that time I really had no idea that there were techniques like this that could help clear my ‘blocks’, to enable me to live a happier, more fulfilled and self-confident life.

With the inspiration of my mentor, Dr Joe Vitale, over the next three and a half years I incorporated what I learned to create five self-help audio programs, which have since impacted the lives of thousands of people in over 30 countries.

These programs covered the topics of abundance, prosperity, hope and trust, and letting go of resentments. My audio programs received an incredible response and until today, I still get emails from people telling me how they have improved their lives.

Not long ago, a client of mine from London emailed me to ask me an interesting question: she wanted to know what was the most life-changing concept that I have learned from focused meditation and Ho’oponopono.

Thinking about it, I realized that it is the fact that each of us has completely different vibrations relating to the many different areas in our lives, such as money, relationships and confidence, mainly due to our own life experience.

It Also Then Occurred To Me That Like Prosperity, Hope And Trust; Confidence Is A Vibration That I Could Learn To Tap Into.

Having had the opportunity to spend a lot of time considering my response, it struck me that my self-confidence was still in fact something that needed strengthening.

Despite all my learning and growth, I still had many limiting beliefs such as “I am not good enough” and “I don’t deserve abundance”, and that the vast majority of these beliefs were inherited from my parents.

I knew that I had this pre-disposition coming into adult life and that somehow I had not sufficiently been paying attention to this up until that point, and I realized that I had to deal with it and treat it, or else this was going to be an issue that I would have for the rest of my life.

I decided then that I truly wanted to improve my self-confidence and self-love once and for all, so I decided to create a tool that I could use everyday to stop my resistance (memories) and anxiety about feeling worthy.

So what I did was create ‘Boost Your Confidence With Ho’oponopono’, to clear any ‘blocks’ of self-confidence, self-love and self-acceptance in my subconscious mind.

In 1998 my husband and I separated, and due to illness, our three young kids lived with him most of the time. To my dismay, every time they visited me they were riddled with head lice. I learned how to be happy, how to be more joyful, how to deal with those difficult days and those damned right impossible days.

I learned what it means to be happy and what I could do when I wasn’t feeling happy. And I learned the stress management techniques to support this. I learned how to get in touch with myself and truly live the life of my dreams.
