You might have known me before this, but don’t know about my background and involvement in the eBay world…

I started on eBay early in 2003. During that time, there were still not many people in the world who knew about the huge opportunity and potential that was available on eBay.

When I started, there was still not many reference materials or resources available compared to what we have today. I had to start from zero!

A few years later, I had managed to build a business empire on eBay and getting a good income every month.

I live in the state of Terengganu in the country of Malaysia and I got good access to various local handicrafts that I can resell overseas. People from other countries love Malaysian handicrafts because of its beautiful and interesting designs.

After selling for 2 years on eBay, my business had expanded greatly that I had to package and ship hundreds of items every single month.

The profit was great but a lot of my time was spent in the business. I was a one-man-show where I had to do everything by myself without anyone’s help.

I was the one who had to create the item description on eBay, monitor the auctions, answer questions, do the packaging, do the shipping and leave feedback for the buyers. In a nutshell, I had to do everything under the sun all by myself.

This situation continued until something happened that made me think “Is this the internet business that I wanted?”

At that point of time, my small child woke in the middle of the night and he saw that I was still busy packing things. He then asked me, “Dad, why are your still working in the middle of the night?” I was actually busy packing items to be shipped the next day.

That incident made me think what actually was I doing with my life. At the early part of my journey into the internet world, I actually wanted to look for something easy that I could do to get more money without the need to do so much work like what I had to do in the office during the day.

That is how an internet business should be – you should be able to generate a good income without the need to give so much effort like in a conventional work.

But the opposite happened to me. During the night time, I had to work even worse in my eBay business than what I had to do in my day job.

After the incident, I started to look for answers on how I can ease the selling process in my eBay business.

The first thing that I considered was the usage of dropshipping services for my business on eBay.

After getting to know a few dropshippers, I started to use the services of a dropshipper to package and send items to my customers. At that point of time, I stopped selling handicrafts and started focusing on selling electrical and electronic goods from China.

After that, my eBay business was getting more and more successful and generated more profit for me compared to selling handicrafts. At that point of time, not many sellers knew on how to get supply and dropship from the country China. You can say that I was the person who started the revolution.

It is absolutely great to do dropshipping. You only need to focus on doing your promotions and after an item is sold, you only need to inform your dropshipper and they will do all the packaging and shipping to your customers for you.

However, I was a victim of my success. Now most of my time was spent answering customer’s questions, reading emails, contacting the dropshipping company, giving the tracking id to the buyers, leaving feedback and giving refunds to unsatisfied customers. In short, my time that was previously filled with doing packaging was now filled with doing all the administration work!

If you have never experienced it before, that is actually the burden that you need to carry for becoming too successful in your dropshipping business!

It came to a point where I had too many administration works until I started to neglect all my other responsibilities. There is no point of getting good money if you have to spend most of your time in front of your computer screen.

Due to that, at the end of 2006 I stopped selling on eBay for a while to re-strategize my selling on the eBay portal.

Early in 2007, while I was window shopping for items on eBay, I found a very interesting eBook entitled How to sell eBooks on eBay. At that point of time, eBay hadn’t issued their new policy which forbids sellers on eBay from selling digital products through direct download such as on eBay today. Thus, I immediately purchased the ebook and finished reading it in just a few hours.

After doing a thorough research and making some preparation, my digital product business was launched and was running smoothly. The best part about my new business is that it is running 100% automatically without any additional effort and attention from me.
