You are going to now hear a story about Judy. Judy is a few years older than me, and her kids are so absolutely fantastic! Her eldest son, Nathan-John is 14 years old, and boy is he smart. Her middle child, six-year-old Katie-Anne, can do the most marvelous tunes on the piano. Not only is she gifted in music she is pretty much the top student in all of her subjects. Her youngest is Owen, age 4. He can already read a year ahead of his level. It is truly amazing to observe all of her children.

Judy’s children are very special, all gifted and talented in their own way. Now, I asked Judy what was her secret, I mean – Judy is no different than all the other moms in the neighborhood. She was very humble and sweet, from the same city as every other mother, had the same upbringing, the same education, we eat the same kind of food…??? Judy was the same as everyone! However, Judy’s 3 children seemed to excel where all the other kids seemed average.

What did she do or what was she doing that made her kids better than all the other kids? How could one Mom who was just like all the other Moms have such gifted and talented children? Every child is special but her kids were extra special and everyone knew they were the kids that could take over the world.

So one day while I was at the local park where all the moms take their kids to play and have a nice chat I asked Judy about her children. I asked her WHAT IS IT? What is it that she is doing to make her children so great? Why her children are top of the class? Why her 3 kids win all the awards? Why her 3 children are so exceptional compared to all the other children at school.

It turns out that when Judy was pregnant she did ALL the same things other moms do. She went to the doctor every month like all the other expectant moms. She followed doctor’s orders, ate the right foods, did the exercises, went to the prenatal classes – just like all the other moms. Judy made sure she had a nice home and room for her new born – just like all expecting moms do. Judy did all the right things for pregnancy and child birth as any normal mom would do. Nothing special. Nothing out of the ordinary.

BUT it turns out that Judy did one thing differently than all the other moms did; something that the other moms didn’t have access to. Something that was unheard of to most mothers. You see, my friends, Judy had a real secret–

a secret that had quietly given her children an extraordinary (almost unfair) advantage over other pregnant mothers’ children. You see when Judy was pregnant with her first child Nathan-John, Judy’s mother had given her some"special tapes" to listen to. Now these were not any sort of "ordinary" tapes, but rather a unique recording made by her mother.

Judy didn’t think much about it other than the music very soothing. So she listened to these tapes quite often while she was pregnant with Nathan-John. It kept her happy and the doctors tells all pregnant moms to be relaxed and happy during pregnancy. So Judy listened to these tapes her whole pregnancy and never really thought about it for the next year after Nathan-John was born.

However, then as Nathan-John started to develop, Judy and the other mothers in her circles started to notice that Nathan-John seemed to stand out from the other children. He was the first to learn new things, he could read and write his name before the other kids could, he was very observant…
