Did everyone tell you that acne was a “teenage problem” and that you would eventually grow out of it?
And this was true for your classmates, friends, and other people you grew up with. They grew out of their acne and entered adulthood having clear skin. But for some reason you didn’t.
…you’ve visited your dermatologist countless times for new prescriptions hoping that these would clear your skin for good.
Nothing! Or maybe you had clear skin for a brief moment but it always came back – sometimes worse than before! Not to mention, the ugly side effects like itching, dry flaky skin, redness, nausea, headaches and even ruined clothes from harsh acne-fighting chemicals.
If this is happening to you, then traditional acne treatments won’t help you and could even be making your condition worse. In fact, the real solution to your acne problem is something you won’t hear from your doctor or dermatologist.
If common acne treatments aren’t working for you, then there are probably deeper issues going on within your body related to your hormones. I’ll get into that in a moment.
But these reasons are actually not the true causes of acne. why isn’t anyone asking what’s causing the overproduction of oil by enlarged oil glands?
Think of a river that feeds into a lake… and miles up the river there’s a factory polluting it and all the pollutants eventually make it into the lake downstream. Meanwhile, down at the lake, people are scrambling to clean up all the pollution in the water and on the shores.
Everyone is thinking of new ways…and new tools to clean and manage the lake’s pollution better…
The American Academy of Dermatology’s official stance is that there is no relationship between diet and acne.
As I’ve discovered, the American Academy of Dermatology are just wrong. They haven’t caught up with the latest research.
Recent research from Harvard and Dartmouth has found that 70 to 90 percent of all milk sold in stores contains hormones such as progesterone, testosterone precursors and insulin-like growth factor hormones… all linked to causing acne.
But it’s not just milk… acne has been linked to diet and other environmental factors in 51 studies published in 32 of the top peer-reviewed scientific journals. So while the AAD’s stance might not change anytime soon, the evidence is becoming harder and harder to just brush aside.
That’s me, Devin Mooers, with clear skin. I’ve been clear for 6 years now since starting this program. I’m eternally grateful, and I want to share it with you!
Bottom line, I just felt ugly, and I knew there was a good-looking guy hiding somewhere under all that acne.
So I became obsessed with researching the root causes of acne and what I could do about it. I was going to find out… or die trying. I wasn’t about to let the rest of my life pass me by with a face-full of acne, preventing me from asking girls out, getting portrait photographs, and meeting new people.
Over the course of 8 years, I read a whole pile of books and scientific papers on the root causes of acne. I was shocked to discover that the single strongest cause of acne was diet. I was even more shocked when I discovered that this is something that most doctors don’t know about yet.
After much research and lifestyle experimentation, I finally found a system for getting to the root cause of acne. Without any face washes or treatments, my acne went away and stayed away. My life changed forever.
My self confidence soared. I used to avoid cameras but then I started smiling confidently in photos with friends and family.
My dating life improved dramatically. I worked up the courage to ask a cute girl to prom in high school, and I’ll be darned if she didn’t say yes. I began to feel all-around more outgoing and, and my self-confidence skyrocketed.
In my first job interview, I suddenly felt less like a kid, and more like a capable “adult”.
On top of all that, because of the quality of my newfound diet, I found myself feeling more energized day after day. When you have tons of energy, life starts to get pretty enjoyable!
Also… I couldn’t believe it… I started to love looking in the mirror! Now when you’ve had acne for most of the formative years of your life, and you suddenly start to enjoy looking in the mirror, that’s something worth writing home about (and sharing with the world).
The most common treatment for acne is benzoyl peroxide. This is found in the many over-the-counter treatments that are heavily advertised.
Benzoyl peroxide produces free radicals in your skin, which can cause premature aging and weaken your skin’s ability to heal.
It’s a vicious cycle…where it tears up your skin leaving you looking overly sunburnt, but you stay that way longer because your skin can’t heal itself normally.
Salicylic acid is another common ingredient found in many different face washes and scrubs. The side effects are irritation and burning in the skin.
If you are using a salicylic acid product in combination with a benzoyl peroxide product—which many people do—the irritation takes longer to heal.
Both of these are topical treatments and without addressing the dietary and hormonal imbalances in your body—your acne will return. That’s why it sometimes seems like acne comes back worse than before after using these products. The side effects of redness and irritation magnify your returning acne.
Prescription treatments for acne focus on killing the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes—or P. acnes for short. But here’s the catch…
How do I know this? A study published in the journal Experimental Dermatology and Lipids in Health and Disease suggests exactly this… that acne can be present even without…
