Mystery Shopping is an aspect of Market Research where regular people are hired to pretend to be customers to give objective evaluations on products and services they receive. Personally, what I love about Mystery Shopping is that it can be done anytime and anywhere. (I’ve shopped in 9 different states, and 2 different provinces) You only take the assignments that appeal to you, and if you need a week, month, or even a year off, it doesn’t matter. Imagine Your Day: You wake up and go grocery shopping, which you needed to do anyway, and make a special trip to the deli and pharmacy to ask specific questions as required by the assignment, ($15 reimbursement.) You then head towards 2 retail stores in the mall to inquire about gifts for your non-existent relatives, ($15 each) and then an apartment building to pretend that you want to live there. ($40) A little later on in the day, you meet up with a friend for lunch at a local restaurant, in which part of the bill will be reimbursed for completing the assignment. ($25) You end the evening by filling out the forms, and checking your email for new available assignments. Total income: $70 in fees, $40 to be reimbursed= $110 for one day’s work! This is possible as a Mystery Shopper. You can build your assignments around your current schedule. You can meet up with friends, take your children, and spend a day out of the office, but still make extra income!
