[GET] Massage Career Guides -Help for every stage of your career in massage.

Help for Every Stage of Your Career! Massage Career Guides are books/ebooks that are written by Julie Onofrio, LMP, author and creator of this website. Everything from helping you deciding if you want to become a massage therapist, finding a job in massage or starting your massage business, these books have been written for the many massage therapists out there who are dreaming of creating a successful massage business.

A Career in Massage -Is it for you? What massage schools and associations won’t tell you about becoming a massage therapist.

Massage Therapy is one of the latest trends in careers and is being talked about as the career with the largest growth rate and job potentials. Many people are using massage as a way to deal with stress, heal from injuries and various conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, whiplash and things like depression and anxiety. More doctors are referring patients to massage therapists for stress related conditions.

There are more jobs available with the introduction of franchises and the many spas and resorts that make massage a main part of their services. Many massage therapists start their own business and learn to market themselves while helping others. Many people come to a career in massage mainly for that reason – to help others.

Behind the many jobs and new opportunities is another side to it all. When massage therapists find out that entry level jobs start at $12-$15 an hour, they are often shocked and unable to pay their high student loan payments. But it can be another way when you know what you are getting into and what you can do to be successful in a career in massage.

Massage is not just about helping. It is about being of service which is very different. It is about learning to take care of yourself first, so that you can succeed in a building a career.

Is a career in massage right for you? If you are considering a career in massage and are not sure if this career path is right for you – this is the book for you! Make a more informed decision! (Paperback, Kindle, PDF) . Learn More.

You can read a Kindle Book on any device or computer (Ipad, Iphone, Android Phones, Mac/PC computers). Download the free app from amazon.com

This new booklet on Kindle gives you a great overview of what you will need to do to become a sports massage therapist. You will first need to be a licensed massage therapist or if your state is one of few states that still does not license massage therapists, you will need to attend basic massage school and then take advanced training in sports massage. This will entail an in depth training in anatomy and physiology. You will also need additional training in working with injuries as athletes will most always have something going on in their bodies due to the intense training regimens.

You can work with athletes of any level – from the weekend warrior to a professional sports team like the NFL or NBA.

Insurance Billing 101 for Massage Therapists – Learn how to bill insurance for massage services. Billing insurance for massage services is an important part of the development of the profession and getting more accepted by the general public as well as doctors and insurance. Showing that massage can and does work for various conditions and can save insurance companies money in the long run will help get massage the respect it deserves. The more massage therapists that learn to bill, the louder our voice can be in getting massage accepted. That is why I have written this book. Insurance billing is one of the things that has allowed me to stay in business for 24 years as it is most always a consistent need. When people are hurt on the job or in car accidents, they come regularly for massage until they are better and often become regular clients who pay cash.

In most states, you can bill insurance for car accidents or work related injuries. Many health insurance companies are also ‘willingly’ paying for massage. You will need to find out what companies are paying yourself, but once you do, you will need to know what to do to bill and get paid. It is mostly a process of learning what questions to ask. Eventually, you will be able to tell what cases to take and which ones are better not to take. Yes there will be many challenges but that can be helped too when you reach out to your community of massage therapists for support and share your information on how to bill. (PDF, Kindle and Paperback available.)
